BackHow it works
Voice-first complaints

Speak the problem. Approve the letter. We handle the rest.

Save one contact on your phone. Next time North East Link works disrupts you, dictate it as a text. Our AI drafts the formal complaint and every follow-up reply — you review, edit or approve, and we deal with NEL until you're satisfied.

Tap "Save the contact" — your phone opens the contact card pre-filled with the name and number. Standard SMS rates apply.

    Dictate your complaint

Hold the home or side button (or "Hey Siri") and say: "Text North East Link Complaints", then describe the problem in your own words — where, when, what's happening, how loud, how bad.

    Listening…

"Text North East Link Complaints. There are jackhammers going at Greensborough Highway, it's eleven pm and we can't sleep."

  3. 3

    Tap send

Your phone reads the message back. Say "send" or tap the send button. That's it — your part is done.

    To: North East Link Complaints

Jackhammers at Greensborough Highway, 11pm, can't sleep with the kids.

    Review and approve the draft

Within a few seconds you'll get an SMS back with a reference code like #K7H2QX and a link to the complaint we've drafted for you. Read it, edit anything, then approve — nothing goes to NEL until you say so. Same again for every reply NEL sends: the AI drafts a response and asks you to approve it.

    From: NEL Complaints

Complaint logged #K7H2QX. We've drafted your complaint — review and approve it here.

    after you approve

#K7H2QX sent to NEL via email. Severity: 4/5.

Say it like this

No special wording. Just talk.

"Trucks reversing on Watsonia Road since 5am — beeping is constant."
"Cracked footpath outside number 42, my mum tripped on it yesterday."
"Dust from the tunnel site is covering every car on our street."

Our AI cleans up the text, gauges severity, and writes the formal complaint in your tone — then hands it back to you to review, edit or approve. Once approved, we find the best resolutions and keep negotiating with NEL, drafting each reply for your approval, until you're satisfied.

Behind the scenes

What happens after you hit send

AI drafts, you approve

Your voice note becomes a structured complaint with date, time, location and severity (1–5) — shown to you as a draft you can edit or approve before anything is sent.

Sent once you approve

On approval we email it straight to NEL's complaints inbox and log the timestamp against your reference code. Prefer hands-off? Switch a conversation to automatic and we'll send on your behalf.

Linked to you, privately

Anonymous by default. If you sign up later with the same mobile, every past report is linked to your account automatically. You can also view NEL communications and responses in our Portal.

Replies drafted for you, daily review at 9am

When NEL replies, the AI reads it and drafts your response for approval. Each morning it also reviews your full history and anything waiting on you, then texts you what needs approving or the next step — monitor, follow up, or escalate. Between 9pm and 7am we hold texts until 9am, and only SMS when there's something worth telling you.

FAQ

Common questions

Does it cost anything?
Just your standard SMS rate. Sending a text to the line uses your normal mobile plan.
Do I have to sign up first?
No. You can text in anonymously. If you sign up later with the same mobile number, all your past complaints will appear in your account.
What if I make a mistake?
Just send another text correcting it. We'll attach it to the same case if it arrives within a few minutes.
Does anything get sent without me seeing it?
No — by default every complaint and every reply to NEL is drafted by the AI and waits for you to review, edit or approve it. If you'd rather not be asked each time, you can switch a conversation to automatic and we'll send on your behalf, still logging everything in the thread.
Will North East Link know who I am?
We only share what you put in the message. Your mobile number stays with us unless you tell us to include it. NEL may need to identify you to agree to solutions - this will only be done with your consent.
