Terms of Use

Last updated: 28 July 2026 — Draft

1. The service

The NEL Community Register is a free community tool. It records the impact of North East Link Project construction on nearby residents, drafts formal complaints on your behalf, and sends them to North East Link. We are not a law firm, not government, and not affiliated with the North East Link Project.

2. Accurate information

You agree that the information you submit — your name, street, and complaint description — is truthful and about events you personally experienced. Deliberately false reports may be excluded from insights and, in serious cases, reported to the relevant authority.

3. AI-assisted drafting

Complaint letters are drafted by AI from what you tell us. You can review and edit any letter before it is sent. If you enable auto-handling, we will send and reply on your behalf using the tone and desired resolution you set. You remain responsible for the substance of every complaint sent in your name.

4. SMS use

Standard message rates from your carrier may apply. By using the service you consent to receive SMS about your complaint and about neighbour corroboration. Reply STOP to opt out.

5. Availability and warranty

The service is provided "as is". We do our best to keep it running and to send every complaint promptly, but we do not guarantee any specific outcome from NEL or that every SMS or email will be delivered.

6. Prohibited use

  • Do not use the service to harass individuals or to submit content that is defamatory, discriminatory, or unlawful.
  • Do not attempt to submit complaints on behalf of people who have not asked you to.
  • Do not attempt to interfere with the service, the AI pipeline, or other residents' data.

7. Termination

We may suspend accounts that abuse the service. You can ask us to delete your data at any time (see the Privacy Policy).

8. Contact

For questions about these terms, reply to any SMS we've sent you, or contact us via the mobile number you registered with.
